<description>These are installations across three buildings that function as one at the College of Humanities and Social Sciences at NC State University. The goal here was to liven up and to unite three stark buildings while adhering to the brand guidelines of both CHASS and NC State.

The installation pieces showcase CHASS students and faculty, while being spatially dynamic. Various areas of the buildings were highlighted in order to connect hallways and corridors, and provide flow throughout the three buildings.

<description>A series of ads featured in prominent publications such as Times, Newsweek, Forbes, Sports Illustrated as well as specific trade journals in North Carolina. The ads are mostly general awareness pieces about NC State University. They are a brand evolution of the 125 aesthetic. The messaging is concentrated on how NC State related work is transformative and carries impact. Additional emphasis was placed on typography and iconography to allow the language to stand out.

Print ads were supplemented with targeted web ads on sites such as The Wall Street Journal and WRAL. Ads were targeted towards specific audiences.

<description>These are the marks created for NC State University's 125th Anniversary, encompassing the idea of "tradition and transformation". The mark was created for the entire institution and is being used as the primary mark from March 2011 to March 2012. There are three versions of the 125 logo, the vertical logo, the horizontal logo, and the stacked logo. Each of the 12 colleges at NC State also received their own versions of the three configurations.

My primary role in the design of these marks was to typeset them. I created the typographic system for all three primary marks and carried that system over to the college marks. I then did scalability and color testing for these marks. The results are implemented in the 125 Brand Guidelines which are used across campus, from the work we do in our office to the football field.

<description>These are a series of ads showcasing principal faculty at NC State University that are transformational, thus highlighting NC State's central message. The ads were featured in Newsweek and The Chronicle of Higher Education. This was the introduction of the 125 aesthetic, the diagonals and red overlays, which has been implemented across multiple media at the university.

I was responsible for typography, composition as well as directing several of the photoshoots and development of the brand and how it could evolve across media.

<description>A poster designed for the Full Frame documentary film festival poster contest. Judging was conducted by independent filmmaker Gary Hustwit.

The photographed letterforms in the poster reference the projector film era while also alluding to light. The stacking of some of the letterforms suggest sequence and time. The use of an undefinable space refers to setting and its texture and its importance in film. The framing of the shot creates interest in a seemingly immaterial location.

2010 Full Frame Documentary Film Festival Poster Design Contest Winner.
